From Maurice KemmaHi
i do have a problem with a full db export. Looks a little bit strange to
me. Does somebody know this issue ? It is a Oracle 8i on Suse 8.0.
EXP-00008 ORACLE error 4045 encountered
ORA-040Thanks for the tip. I downloaded an rpm that is compiled against 9i
(1.24) from http //www.globecom.net/tora/. Install was no problem after
I set my $ORACLE_SID environment variable correctly. EvBoth problems solved thanks for all the inputs
Problem 2 (unable to initialize 12 GB of indirect memory ENOSPC) was easy The shmfs was to small its size defaults to half of the phys RAM whichFirst question that comes to mind is Are you using some sort of media
manager? Legato NetBackup etc etc
If so are you sure that the product has the necessary libobk.so to link it
to RMAN? According to df Shmfs is only 8 GB in size.
I will change that and retry.
However this doesn 't help with the problem attaching a 2 GB SGA.
Kernel is the official SR3 kernel 2.4.21-138-smp
Hi
i increased the swapsize to 2GB and started the Installer with -ignoreSysPrereqs.
I got the same result the installer hangs.
regards
Steffen

Von AntI 'm using Oracle 10g (non-RAC) on SLES 8 SR 3.
The database worked fine after installation with the default memory parameters.
As the server has 16 GB RAM I copied over the memory parameters fromHi
use swapsize size 2GB and/or use
runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs

Add the commands to the /etc/init.d/rc.local file. That should do it.
You should put the fully-qualified path just in case.
example
/usr/sbin/ethtool -s eth0 autoneg off.

You 're right.
You need to the a minimum Oracle-Environment.
You should set
LD_LIBRARY_PATH
ORACLE_HOME
PATH
where ORACLE_HOME is pointing to your Oracle-Home and
