You want Oracle Support - you use SLES and not a professional edition.
We run Oracle 9i and 10g sucessfully on SLES-8.
CheerWe are undergoing a project to forecast future projects and considering
possible server(s). We would appreciate information about the
suse-linux servers that you are running production Oracle 9i orHi
I 'm looking on oracle software certification matrix on suse 's site and

Hi Manuel
as i described with a mail from April 2004 to this list
10g RAC is not running on SLES-8 because of a ORACLE BUG in CRS.
Oracle will provide a fix in 10g patchset 1 hopefully relI found notes in MetaLink that 9iR2 < SP4 is missing some
Apache header files. And the only solution provided is to
update to SP4 or later.

bien pero cuando intento arrancar la BD mediante el procedimiento
autom?tico que tengo en "/etc/init.d/oracle start " me Try using
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.1
or
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.20
(I can 't test them as long as the download is still going on).

Is it almost looks like it 's trying to write data into a file as opposed to

+1. Try to sort out the problem as a different user - not SYS.
2. Check what it says in tnsnames.ora on the server. Isqlplus uses this file to resolve hostnames. Try sqlplus on the server itself. IfWhy install glibc_23 at all??
Samba-client 2.2.8a-133 on the SLES 8 Service Pack 3 CD says it requires
between GLIBC2.0 and GLIBC2.2 (I just checked it on my SLES 8 SP3 system).
