i wouldn 't try it i remember having some difficulties with some libraries
on SuSE 7.x.

to me this looks like a misconfigured .profile of your oracle-user on the Test-machine. You use 2 different ORACLE_HOME
/oracle/product/9ir2/ on prod.

It had to do with (indeed) 2 different ORACLE_BASE definitions. I 've
added the correct one in /etc/profile.d/oracle.*sh and now I can connect

it covers even async i/o and hugetlb problems (test are made on AMD64 but
should work fine on x86 as well).

thougThis indicates there is problem in the Oracle built-in package in target DB.
Try running catalog.sql & utlrp.sql first before re-import.

The installer stops with my SuSE 9.1 asking for RHAS2/3 or United Linux/
SLES8 so downloaded SLJean-Hilaire
