Im on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 8 with Oracle 10g and orarun-1.8-11.
When I do shutdown -r now as root the console says in the shutdown section of oracle shutdown script
-su I met the same problem.
My error was to edit the wrapper with a vi instead of using the "cat "
command.
It is likely some kind of caracters didn 't permit the script to be
interpreted correctly.
I forgot to set LD_ASSUME_KERNEL for the oracle user...

I installed 9.2.0.4 onto SuSE 9.1. I applied patch 3006854 from Metalink to get past the OUI
problems and the install seemed to proceed fine from there. However I cannot get dbca or netca to

i asked suse support the same question.
10g and 10g rac will be certified in oktober. oracle will provide patches
for db and crs so they also run unter sles9.
