We were wondering why we are going into swap with 16G of ram and not
much running on the machine except for Oracle.

To begin here is the system configuration. SuSE 9.2 Professional standard
libraries all the way through. (Nvidia based gfx card (latest nvidia
drivers). Tested with 10.1.0.2 and then 10.1.0.3Hi List!

orarun-1.8-109.5 comes with SLES9.

i run SLES9 with Oracle EE 10.1.0.3 on 3 production boxes without problems.
Heavy use.
Async on!
All SCSI and/or FC.
I will install this combo on another production server on Monday.

It seems that on metalink Oracle Standard Edition 10g is now fully
certified for SLES9. At least no issues are reported.
Does that mean that asynch I/O is now fully supported under Hello
Anybody had success installing the 11.5.10 E-business suite under SLES 9.0 ?

I just programm the following procedure using Oracle 8.1.7 on Linux.
This code works fine with less than 9500 records in the selected table.
But there are more then 60000 records in the tHi all
After a mistake this things only occurs after a mistake i found an users
tablesapce big but very big... I try to delete it but i receive messages
like
- permanent tablespace cannoHi Arun
I believed the "disk " group was made on purpose! It helps setting raw
devices (and ASM). Really helpful for RAC.
(Drawback it could be considered a security issue. What about
introduciI will look into the issue why oracle user is not in dba group. May be I
do one more install to check this -)
I guess Tilman has some other problem to look into -)

I have been given the task to get the sqlplus (oracle 10g (10.1.0.2)) sql
clients setup in our network. I have however run into a snag. Our network
users are all authenticated via a ldap (opeEBusiness Suite 11.5.10 was released on Nov 8th 2004 on SUSE SLES9.
11.5.10 is available today on SUSE SLES8 also.

these Notes in metalink 277780.1 and 275765.1. They
show how to resolve the problems with dbconsole.
To resolve the problems with thYes. I have specified it in /etc/profile.d/oracle.sh and "env | grep ORA " tells me the same.

I still have problems getting ORACM to start with the orarun package.

I saw on Oracle Certification Matrix that this version is not supported on
SLES 9. I wonder if there is any possibility to install it and use without
