Hi!
We are planning to migrate Oracle 8.1.7 applications on Windows 2000 Cluster platform to IBM Z/800 platform
Can anyone give me a information about performance of Oracle 9i on Z/OS v1r4 and Oracle Ok SUSE 10 is still beta (beta2) but I wished to test oracle
installation there since probably it will be the base for the next
SLES10.
So far SUSE 10 lacks libaio (and so orarun) and the default gcWhis filesystem type is better? Ext3 or reiserfs?
My tests shows that 64 bit Oracle 10 is 30% slower vs 32 bit 's Oracle10
(tested ON THE SAME HARDWARE).
Which is very easy to explain (64 bit require more memory so it use CPU
cache less efefctively).
Hi
I solved it by make more free space on root partition.
Thanks for help

this did the trick. Thanx a lot. Does anyone know when Suse will release a more stable version of this? It makes no sense to me in a HA cluster to reboot all components if one of them fails...
CHi @ all
I have just installed Oracle 10g R2 on SuSE Linux 9.3 Professional.
The installation I did is based on the ducument

The database works
On SuSE SLES9SP2 with LVM2. After creating a volume group and logical
volume I run an lvdisplay and get this for each partition
Found duplicate PV {volume id} using /dev/sda1 not /dev/sdq1

Which tool you are using for data load. How big is
your database and what are your init.ora parameters.
What is the value of /proc/sys/fs/aio-max-nr

configuration file so that it can not reboot on next attempt).
Main file system was reiserFS (do not blame me for using / for everythiRestarting other node helped in my case. There is something wrong with
OCFSv2.
As I said I can ot see stable OCFSv2 configuration yet (running staging
cluster all the time).
PS. I told with OCFSv2 Hi all
Since update Oracle X86/64Bit from 9.2.4 to 9.2.6 I have some problems
