Hello all
I am new to administering Oracle on Linux having administered it on
Windows for over five years and I have a question about applying a
service pack to SLES 9. Specifically is there We have found an article on MetaLink that says the Reports Server in Forms &

The article then references to We need to make an Active-Active cluster for Forms & Reports 10g R1. We have

We have an HP DL585 G1 system. (32GB RAM and 4xDual Core Opteron x86_64
processor)
And we want to dedicate this server only for oracle enterprise 10gR2.
What is the tuned parameters for below paramRobert
Take this as a large semplification
Direct I/O is a non buffered I/O. You don 't rely on the operating system
VM for such operation as buffering caching and even read ahead.

What is the difference between direct I/O and async I/O?

Hi Robert
Actually the command should have been
make -f ins_rdbms.mk async_off
make -f ins_rdbms.mk ioracle
to disable to async I/O.
However from what you are writing the issue seems related to dWell known mistake - took wrong clusterware disk (installation directory
which do not make much sense anyway).
Everything is going smooth with correct distribition.

We are trying to install SLES9 x86-AMD64/EM64T on an IBM xSeries 346 MTM8840-45Y Server.
The problem is that we are unable to recognize the mirror in SLES9 installation phase.
The mirror was crHello all
we are planning to use ocfs2 in our clustered SLES9/IA64 infrastructure
just for a big pool for archived redo logs where every db instance
can write to to consolidate storage needs.
And Hi All!
I try to install 10gR2 on sles9-x86-64 and receive error message on the

Agreed Tom... I however have been at this
stuff (clustered Oracle ) WAY too long and have
done so with WAY too many other products to be biased
toward our product for for the reasons you note... > > >My suspicion is based on his email address his talking

You arPolyServe has world 's best cluster file system . It is certified to run
on the top of SLES9 including SP1 and SP2.
