I have test oracle 8.1.7 performance on rh 7.2 and sles8(sp3). Any configure files are default. But the time cost are very different while execute the following store procedure.
sqlplus Running SLES7 with Oracle Instance (9.2.0.1). Data load ~ 8GB
duration ~ 3h using imp. I made a fresh installation (UL 1.0 and Oracle
9.2.01). Same data load ~ 14h. There are no specific errorsI created raw devives using the LVM

I just tried to install Oracle 8.1.7 on SLSS8. Everything works fine until I
get to dbassist. It crashes everytime with the following error

/data/oraclNever thought at this kind of benchmark... but why using two different
version of oracle (9.2.0.4 for redhat and 9.2.0.1 for UL)?
