  | | | Oracle List | Ana you have been using db links all the time but when you are
running LDAP or Oracle*Names and your databases have GLOBAL_NAMES
set to true. then you have db link created for each service name
We have the 9.2.0.4 agent running on three AIX 5.2 R6000 boxes. I start
them logged on as Oracle. Oracle does not have root access.

Yes. No supported release > no support. Rafiq
I 'm assuming that you mean you want to export/import a schema from
Solaris to Linux? If so just do it. Export/Import will take care of
platform incompatibilities. When you send the exportThe syntax you have below will cause an error in Oracle.

Your are probably hitting a Windows port-specific SQL*Plus bug. It 's quite annoying and apparently not fixed until 10g.
We 've used dbms_utility.get_time (sp?) as a replacement.
See bugs 2487103 Sony Online Entertainment? Isn 't that the company which employs
certain divinities? You better start studying hard...

I 'm running the same using 8.1.7. Because the expectations of OFS are so
basic your tests are also basic.
Try the obvious
1). Simply shut the database down manually and make sure tIt is 64 bit OS.
Try "-b " option.
The -b option prints the number of bits in the address space of the
corresponding native applications environment

I 'm still sort of new to oracle 9iRAC and are trying to find out what is
important to monitor in a RAC environment to keep the system up and running
and detect problems early on. DoesThe 10g installer is so much more performant than 9i wow!
I did a complete install in less than 15 minutes! In 9i it was several minutes just to paint one screen!
Try using a different X server.
Cygwin has worked for me in the past.
Or get a linux box to run it from.
Ask your OPS folks real nice and they might give you
a PC to run linux on.
