When I look at the V$SQLAREA I see some cursors that were loaded many
times but executed zero times. Could someone please explain why this
happens.

yes an good solution for reading files but what about writing files - are
there better solutions than utl_file?

1. Is it possible that the hash table which contains the linked list
of all the buffer in the memory can get locked and can cause all the
session to wait I received an export dump from another setup done in 8.1.7 exp utility.
I tried importing the dump with 9.2.0.6.0 imp utility and got the
following error. I was of the opinion that 8.1.7 dumps should > V$SESSTAT 'redo size '
