iptraf is a nice way to monitor NFS throughput (I just did a blog post this
morning about FWIW we load about 140 million records (not so many columns) via SQL*Loader
every couple of weeks (on Oracle 9.2.0.6 Solaris). It takes an hour or two
to perform the SQL*Loader portion of this job.} We know that the server has only 32Gigs of real memory and 20 Gigs of swap
space.
} Why does it display "oracle " is using 924G of memory?
Because it 's summing the shared memory )

function to de-install ORACLE 9i or 10G software. it

It 's kinda long and Position 1 Cleveland Ohio company needs a DBA to join their staff.
Must Have Oracle Applications DBA experience.
This is a fantastic reputable company offering a great work
environment great peopWhich reminds me try and see whether you are lucky to have some extended
statspack (seg stats or plans) history or AWR in which you will find the
names of objects being in use.

Tell your developers to go jump
Now what they probably want is DBA privileges and that is debatable for
them as it seems you don 't have anyone with the level of experience to
be trusted.
YouI agree with John it was a nice apology. Mistakes do happen.

probably does not understand what this list is all about. Not excusinHello everyone
One of our clients got the brilliant Idea in order to "reduce the budget " to
centralice the Database and the OAS in the same server. We are talking
about a HP server with HPUX-11.23.Is anyone using Oracle on zLinux on the IBM zSeries mainframes? If not do
you know anyone who is that I can contact? IBM is seriously courting our

This is 9.2.0.8.0 on Solaris 8.
We have to migrate a RAC database from 9i to 10g. Platform is Red Hat Linux 3 kernel ID 2.4.21-32.0.1.Elsmp on Egenera blades. Data volume is relatively small 8 GB or so. I 'm debating whether toThat sounds like a classic case for flashback database in my book most dev

production for the developers but might want to reversHi we have been using bmc patrol to monitor instance and listener

from patrol has made it unusable for this.
Does anyone have a I have been getting these errors for the last 2 days. In each case the
"freeze " the database so that no new users can log on and existing
connections cannot execute sql. The database version is 9.2.Yes it means it is now fully allocated by Oracle and will be used when
required by sessions.

Thanks to everyone for the their input. The "fix " was to set ORACLE_HOME via
Control Panel - System - Environment Variables not just in the "local
environment ". Don 't quite understand this but aWe are running a cluster here of Linux 64 servers for the testing
environment we have multiple instances running on nodes and don 't need
any funny switches etc to run instances to consume 16G.
Why 64Following on from this discussion what is the take up on Linux 64 bit
vs 32 bit for Oracle? The main reason for going with 64 bit seems to
be for a large SGA particularly the non buffer cache sectioGreetings
I am in the process of configuring a new two node RAC cluster on RHEL4
and will be installing 10gR2. I ran the cluster verification utility and
it indicated everything is good to go. I am It does not roll the copy foreword by using archive logs it takes
incremental changes from the datafiles and applies them to the copy. You
are correct though they cannot be compressed.
