docs or on MetaLink or Google is this a mismatch betweeSpeaking of the various books I 'm eagerly anticipating Robert
Freeman 's book "Oracle Database 10G New Features ". Will it
start shipping in March? I started reading the "10g New Features "
by Mike AI just noticed that as well.
Though I haven 't yet looked at the doc I would define 'newbie ' as anyone
that
has not yet worked with 10g. As you might guess I 'm hoping this doc
will
bring me upSpeaking off the cuff I can 't think of a technical reason.
I wouldn 't do it as I like to keep the users trace files separate
from the alert log and system trace files.

Hi!
It 's going to idl_char$ but not in easily parseable and usable format...
The long column in argument$ is probably a leftover from some earlier plsql
versions...

Not a UNIX expert but I think the & at the end tells it to return the prompt
and run in the background. Returning the prompt is an almost instant job and
that is wath you get confirmed
