Subject: [suse-oracle] Oracle 8i Database Link Help
Hi
I'm new to Oracle, and I'm using Oracle 8i.
I need to to the following: I have two distinct databases (DB1 and DB2) on different locations. The idea is to update a table XPTO in DB1 everytime, that same table is updated in DB2.
I checked some documentation and what I needed was:
- Create a DB link between DB1 and DB2
- Create a snapshot of each table XPTO in DB1 and DB2
- Create a trigger
Can you explain me step by step, how to create a database link ? What are the modifications needed on tnsnames.ora and listener.ora
I would appreciate an answer
Cheers
Pedro
