[suse-oracle] Question about upgrade from 32 to 64 bits

Herman Maseberg

2005-09-13

Hi all,

I have to migrate a 9.2.0.5 database running on xSeries 445 32 bits / Suse
SLES9 SP2 / Oracle 9.2.0.5 32 bits to an xSeries 366 EM64T running Suse
SLES9 SP2 x64.
I recover a cold full backup in the new box (datafiles+Oracle 32 bits
binaries) and try to startup the database but I get the following error
"ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment", the parameter
shmmax is set to a value bigger than SGA.
Oracle 32 binaries like sqlplus executes fine, did I miss something?

Regards

Herman
