Yes, that's works!

I did following:

#echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/disable_cap_mlock

modify /etc/sysctl.conf to:

# Disable response to broadcasts.
# You don't want yourself becoming a Smurf amplifier.
net.ipv4.icmp_echo_ignore_broadcasts = 1
# enable route verification on all interfaces
net.ipv4.conf.all.rp_filter = 1
# enable ipV6 forwarding
#net.ipv6.conf.all.forwarding = 1
MLOCK priviledge
vm/disable_cap_mlock=1

yes, it is better solution, I wil retest, if problem is solved in current
kernel (do not remember when I saw it).

And this note is not 100% correct - you cannot set up env. variable in
Oracel user, it is not enough - dbca do not transfer envirionment to java.

(I will test 'disable_cap_mlock' method after all).

Please refer to Metalink Note 293988.1 for the solution. I used this to fix
the same error several months ago.

Subject: [suse-oracle] Problem install Oracle10gR2 on Suse 9 (x86_64)

Hi folk's.

I'm trying install Oracle 10.2.0.1 (10gR2) no SLES 9 (both are
x86_64) using HOWTO
(http://ftp.novell.com/partners/oracle/docs/10gR2_sles9_install.pdf).

   I did exactly how is on PDF, but I got an error when "Oracle
Installer" try to configure "Oracle Database Configuration Assiste" (pag.8).

ORA-27125: Unable to create shared memory segment

If I click "Ignore" I got error message:

ORA-01034: ORACLE not avaliable

If I install without to check "Create starter database" I don't got
error, but don't install starter database.

My machine is IBM eSeries 236:
-2 Xeon 3.2 GHz, 8 GB ram, 400 GB HD.

What's wrong?

Thank you in advanced.
