Hello,
i'm evaluating Oracle 10gR2 RAC on one amd64 machine, I test it with two
disks.
I create on each disks a partition /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1, each with
100MB of size. I bind them as raw devices (/dev/raw/raw10 and
/dev/raw/raw20).
I install the clusterware and define as OCR locations the two raw
devices.
So far it works. The daemons start up properly, even after rebooting.
Now iam rebooting the machine again, but only with one disk. I have
removed the other disk, to simulate the case, that one disk is not
available anymore and has been set offline.
Now the clusterware is not starting anymore. It complains:
"OCR initialization failed accessing OCR device: PROC-26: Error while
accessing the physical storage"
And i have no clue, why it is telling me this. Of course one disk is
missing, but the other one is still available, thats why it is called
"redundant".
Has anybody seen this ever and has a clue, what is going wrong? Or
what i did wrong?
I have used the:
"Oracle? Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) Media Pack v1 for Linux
x86-64"
as source for the software.
Thank you very much in advance!
