Hi
I have a working RAC setup with Oracle 9.2.0.6 on SuSE Linux 9.2.
SLES 9.2 has hang check timer module for cluster interconnect and RAC is
configured to use that.
Now, we are in the process of deploying a software firewall for the
database cluster nodes. For doing so, I would like to know what ports
have to be kept open for cluster interconnect communication. Or can we
close some of the ports that are not used by cluster interconnect? How
do we know what ports are being used and what are not? We tried one
time, by shutting down ports other than the ones used for listener
ports..but the RAC threw errors immediately. I am not sure which ports
are absolutely essential.
Can anyone please throw some lights on this?
I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks
