Hi Darko,
You did right thing to comment some section in oracle.sh script to make
it work on IA64.
Please post detailed error you are getting with netca.
Thanks,
Arun

Subject: Problems with Oracle 10gR2 on SLES9
CC:<suse-oracle@(protected)>
With respect,
The installation of Oracle10gR2 (10.2.0.1) on SLES9 with Service Pack2
on HP rx2620 servers (Itanium based) caused problems.
Namely, as soon as the installation was finished and Logout procedure
performed, we can not Log In to the system using the Oracle account
which we used for the installation purpose. There is a message generated
by the system - related to KDEINIT problems...
While observing ".xsession-errors" file we found the following message:
"Error while loading shared libraries: libexpat.so.0"
After visiting several forums, we found the problem is probably due to
the orarun script placed in /etc/profile.d/oracle.sh, which we installed
from SLES9 Service Pack2 CD.
After commenting several lines from the EMT64/AMDx86 section within the
script, we can Log on to the system with the Oracle account and we can
not initiate some Oracle bin files like NetCA which causes some Java
related error message, but on the other hand - we can initiate DBCA bin
file, for instance...
Can you please help us on this issue?
Can You point out any workaround?
Best Regards,
Darko Krstevski.
