[suse-oracle] OCSSD too early killed at shutdown

Dear list,

I've got a problem with shutting down a SLES9 64bit SP3 with Oracle 10.2.0.1
using ASM. It is no RAC setup, just a single instance with ASM.

The machine bootup is running without trouble, as soon as I made the
(self-written) oracle startup script dependent on the init.cssd and have
waited long enough for ocssd startup (about 90sec). So far so good.

But on shutdown, ocssd seems to receive a kill signal while database is still
running. ASM crashes with ORA-29702, of course, no synchronisation service is
available. But why does ocssd die so early? On shutdown, the init.cssd script
definitely runs AFTER the oracle script.

Has anybody had this problem before? I crosschecked this behaviour on
following combinations:
10g R1 32bit on SLES9 32bit SP 0 up to 2
10g R1 64bit on SLES9 64bit SP 0 up to 3

It seems there is something I do absolutely wrong, but I have found nothing on
the web/metalink.

Best regards,
