We converted the individual scripts to a central
server. We run rman through sqlnet so you don't have to have have
direct access. We do ssh in for a few command simply to accomdate the conversion
of the orginal script. Check out how to use sqlnet with
rman.

Hi,
I have a regular hot backup setup on a server to copy files (rcp) to
another server. I can also use rsh. I am moving to rman and would like to copy
the backup to the same remote server. This is 8.1.7.4 on sunos 5.8.
I would be using basic rman like : allocate channel disk1 type disk format
'/export/back/%d_backups/%U'. Is there a way to point disk to this remote file
system and have rman use rcp/rsh for copy. Can someone help?
One way would be to rfs mount a file system but that would be limiting and
also affect the server if rfs mounted file system is not available.
Thanks
