Navisphere Analyzer is the best tool out there to monitor and plot trends for storage backend analysis. It provides you several levels of details and will be hard to piece meal it from a navicli perspective. Off course this will cost you $$$.

Common practice.  Oracle's CBO is not perfect, and no optimizer
will ever be perfect.

Oracle will gladly sell you tools ($$$) to help out with the
areas where CBO is confused.  

 

We got EMC because we know how smoothly it works. Cache never fills, i/o distributes automatically. So if there is a problem, it's got to be a database issue.
