Hi William
I don't know the solution, but try to start Rman with trace "rman
debug trace rman.trc <the arguments you normally use>" this will
activate Rman trace to the file rman.trc.
If Rman just hangs when you start it without arguments then start Rman
with the linux strace "strace rman" this will dump all the Linux system
calls and this give you a clue to the problem
