Replies:

Hi everyone,

I'm going to install Oracle 9i RAC on SLES 9 with SP3 on two itanium servers and
due to the lack of an official document on this subject I've been reading
Oracle's document "Step-By-Step Installation of 9.2.0.5 RAC on Linux",
"Oracle9i RAC Quick installation guide for linux x86" and specially Puschitz
doc on the subject but for Red Hat. I have a better idea now on how to install
it but I have a couple of questions in case someone has been thru the same
experience:

- On my shared storage device I'm going to use OCFS instead of Raw devices, I
have ocfs2-tools and ocfs2console installed (v. 1.1.4), is the ocfs.o kernel
module already loaded in the kernel? I have 2.6.5-7.244 version of kernel.

- Is the hangcheck-timer already included in the SP3 kernel? or should I add it?

- Oracle 9iRAC really doesn't support ssh so I have to set up rsh on all the
nodes?

- Does orarun sets up all of the necesary parameters in the kernel for RAC to
work as it does in standalone installations?

- Any tip that might help?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to put the pieces together,

Thank you for your help

Jorge
