Hello
I am trying to install oracle 10gr2 on a Suse 9.3 box. During the link
phase, the installation fails with the following message
INFO: /o/bin/genclntsh
INFO: gcc:
INFO: installation problem, cannot exec
`/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-suse-linux/3.3.5/collect2'
INFO: : Argument list too long
INFO: genclntsh: Failed to link libclntsh.so.10.1
INFO: make: *** [client_sharedlib] Error 1
INFO: End output from spawned process.
INFO: ----------------------------------
INFO: Exception thrown from action: make
Exception Name: MakefileException
Exception String: Error in invoking target 'client_sharedlib' of
makefile '/o/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk'. See
'/home/cocoondev/oraInventory/logs/installActions2006-03-29_09-23-42AM.log'
for details.
After googling some times on the internet, I found a page at
http://www.linuxjournal.com/node/6060/print , which mentions the
possiblity of recompiling the kernel to increase the max arg size from
128k to 256 k. Is there any other known workaround ? My kernel is
2.6.11.4-21.11-default, the box has 4 Gig RAM.
