I'd suggest ext3 for rdbms installation, and a non-journaling FS for the data
files. Journaling isn't desired for oracle data files, since oracle's cache
handling was made for working on its own.

Why ext3? I never lost a ext3 FS, but I lost more than one ReiserFS without
knowing why two years ago.

Why ext2? Simple, supported, working over years.
