Hello,
Ad 3) If you are using export/import please forget about using DIRECT=Y for export on 8i. It created corrupted dump files for me. I do not recall the exact configuration but it was very similar to yours.
Good Luck,
Radovan

Subject: [suse-oracle] oracle installation question on suse
Hi,
I need to install 10gR2 on SUSE. I have some question about the installation and answers are greatly appreciated:
1. How do I find out the exact version of the OS installed? I know it is SUSE but dont know the patch level.
2. Can I install 64-bit Oracle database 10.2.0.1.0 on SUSE? I read the installation document from SUSE website, but it mentions only 32-bit.
3. I am actually migrating a 32-bit 8i oracle database from a 64-bit Solaris OS. I am planning to use import/export for this process of migration and upgrade. Any useful tips or things to remember during this process will be very helpful to me.
Thanks,
Kishore.
