Hello,
We represent a Romanian company that currently uses Oracle 9 on a SuSE
8.2 platform. We intend to switch to the SLES 9 platform, that supports
both Oracle 9 and Oracle 10 products.
Therefore, we used the 60 days free download
(SLES-9-i386-RC5-CD1.iso...SLES-9-i386-RC5-CD6.iso). We don't use the 64
bits install on our machines. The SLES install worked fine and we were
able to use the online update option.
However, when we start to install Oracle, we encountered several errors.
The first error was
"Error in invoking target relink of makefile
/$ORACLE_HOME/lib/ins_precomp.mk". After chosing "ignore" on this error
and the following ones, the Oracle was installed but when we tried to
run it we got the error "cannot execute binary file".
We didn't encounter the errors above on the SuSE 8.2 with the same
Oracle 9 version. Please advise us how to avoid these errors on the
Oracle install.
Regards,
...
