Sometimes it is necessary.
For example, I am running Oracle8 client on SLES9 SP3, because Oracle10
client dont work with our software (imports are not compatible, and so on).
I installed it by
- installing Oracle8 i386 client onto SLES8 SP3
- copying installed directory into SLES9 SP3 x86_64
(all other methods showed upo slow and buggy).
After it, it works fine.
In addition - do we have Grid control server for x86_84?
