SLES 9 SP3 + Oracle 9.2.0.6 + SATA = datablock corruption 2006-10-26 - By Alexei_Roudnev
Back Ok, returning back.
Do we have a test suite, which allows to stress test system and recognize (with some probability) memory problems or io problems or cpu problems? I usually use simple "test.c" task, which runs thru determined memory set (100 - 800 MB) and read/write/match data patterns, then run it so that some processes swap, and it helps to recognize bad servers, but it's too primitive to be recommended. On the other hand, I saw simular problem few times, and each time it was extremely difficult to distinguish between HW error and file system (both cases had reiserFS) error.
