Re: [suse-oracle] Heterogeneous SAP environment

Hello again,

Here's the interesting part of SAP's note id 171356:

One (possible) problem has become known regarding heterogeneous R/3 systems:
The sort sequence depends on the operating system used. There are no
specific requirements defined by SAP in this regard. For this reason,
different results are possible when outputting lists on different
application servers. SUSE offers the option of modifying the sort sequence
on Linux as part of a support contract. By doing this, you can obtain
standard sorting results even if there are differences in the operating
system of the application servers.

I called the local SAP Support team and they mentioned it to be an Endianess
issue and that SuSE has a "fix" for this problem that's shared freely
provided there's a subscription. We do have paid subscriptions and original
CDs, but we don't have any support contract, as far as I can tell. I still
can't see how to open a call on Novell's, is there an email or do I have to
phone long distance?

Thanks
Pierre
