If you want a smooth installation (= no errors) use Red Hat and 32-bit.

When i installed grid control 10.2.0.1.0 on SLES9 (32.bit) i got the
following error:



$ORACLE_HOME/oms10g/cfgtoollogs/cfgfw/.

     Could not connect to the remote server. Please check if the

Problem with IPv6 addressing on SuSE 9

Workaround:

Edit the following 2 files

1. <omshome>/sysman/install/EMDeploy.pm and add
"-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true"
to the following invocation line:
# redeploy em.ear $self->logAndExec("$self->{'OH'}/jdk/bin/java
-Xmx512M -DemLocOverride=$self->{'OH'} *-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true*

2. <omshome>/opmn/conf/opmn.xml add the
"-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true"
to the java-options for start-parameters of all the process-types
eg:

......................."
