How can I migrate 9i on Linux IA64 to Linux x86_64 2007-01-09 - By Zarick, Mathias

Hello All,
we have to migrate an 9i DB from a Linux IA64 Itanium to Linux x86_64 AMD
Opteron.
We have to stay on 9i, so we cannot use the new 10g data pump features or rman
transportable tablespaces.
The transportable tablespaces feature with export / import in 9i is only
supported,
when we stay on exactly the same platform.
Anyway has anybody tried between IA64 and x86_64?
Both should have little endian format.
Any other tricks to minimize downtime?
full export / full import will take so so long.
