Hi Chaps & Chapettes



I am planning to upgrade a server from SLES8 to SLES9, with an oracle
instance and some erp software on board.



Is the installers "upgrade" option safe ?



Would I be better going straight to SLES10 ?



I have no great urge to do this upgrade, but sadly SSA (Now infor) and
Veritas (now Symantec) have dropped SLES8 Support, and the latest
Oracle/Linux agent will not work on SLES8. on a side note if anyone is
backing up oracle to a Backup Exec 11d server from SLES8 please let me know
how ;-)



Back to the question at hand, I can possibly get a lower spec`d server to
hold replicate SLES8/9i and test on, but if the upgrade is really solid do I
need to bother ?
