Dear All,

I would like to ask , if we gain any performance by using Oracle
Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2) Forms & Reports Services
Standalone x86 on SLES9 SP3 x86-64 on AMD Opteron x86-64 hardware. From our
experience Oracle Database servers ported to x86-64 are generally running
faster on AMD Opteron x86- 64 vs. Intel Xeon x86. However, x86-64 version
of Oracle AS doesn't exist, or at least we're not aware of it.

My question is are we bettor of with decent 32-bit Xeon based machine
(we're considering HP DL380 G5) or 64-bit AMD Opteron based machines (HP
DL385 G2 or HP DL585 or HP DL585 G2).

Most likeley it's not a big deal to get x86 version of Oracle AS running on
SLES-9 (See http://LES-9.ora-code.com) x86-64, but we wouldn't want to waste the resources of 64-bit
machine running 32-bit code.

I would greatly appreciate any information of this subject.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Vitaliy
