Agree with you, in my case cache hit ratio is 95%, I can´t avoid some long
reports because are standard transactions from SAP and are inefficient
because involve large tables with merge joins.
In the old box this cache was 90%.

I'm performing some tests with a lab server following recomendations from
Juan Miranda from this mail list to improve I/O performance changing boot
parameters (elevator=deadline) and using async I/O.
