This is not always possible and not because we don't want to. It is
because Novell won't release the software. Let me explain: We use IBM
IRES where possible, NLPOS where not and sometimes, when the customer
specifies the OS, Windows. I really wonder when will NLPOS for SLES10
will be out so that IBM can build their next version IRES, no one
knows. I reckon the real answer is: never.
Looking at Novell's 2007 August support CD/DVD breakdown, there is no
mention of NLPOS modifications whereas DVD9A is for SLED10SP1. Since
NLPOS is based directly on SLED, I really wonder what is holding it
up.
Obviously, if some of your servers need to be SLES9 (you need it for
IRES/NLPOS), there is no reason why you should be installing SLES10 or
even 11 on anything.
