Back Unfortunately you dont provide full information as to the profile of the log file sync wait event. Does "Lot of" mean large numbers of events of short duration or a large amount of wait time attributable to log file sync.
For better understanding of the way forward please consider providing
* Select * from v$event_histogram where event in ('log file parallel write', 'log file sync'); * AWR output to determine the average wait time and if timeouts are occurring. * Information on whether the server is CPU bound as this will exacerbate log file sync times. * Platform and file system information, including database and filesystem block size.
Cheers
Adrian

Hi All,
We are having a lot of Log file sync waits because of frequent commits issued from the third party application. What are the solutions to fix this apart from the follwing one...
> To move the redo logs to faster disks(Not feasible in our case).
We are using AUTO SGA (10g R2) which can tune log buffer on its own(Please correct me if I am wrong).
